FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Everything you need to know about the MCP server

What is the Model Context Protocol?

The Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard developed by Anthropic that enables AI agents to securely connect to external data sources and tools. It provides a standardized way for AI systems to access context and perform actions on your behalf.

Which AI agents support MCP?

Claude Desktop, Cursor IDE, and other MCP-compatible AI agents can connect to SecurityBot's MCP server. The list of supported clients is growing as MCP adoption increases.

Is the MCP server secure?

Yes! Each site has its own API key that can be rotated or revoked at any time. API keys are scoped to individual sites, so agents can only access data for sites they're authorized to view. All communication happens over HTTPS.

Is there a cost to use the MCP server?

The MCP server is available to all SecurityBot users at no additional cost. Both free and Pro accounts can generate API keys and connect AI agents to access their security monitoring data.

What data can AI agents access?

Currently, AI agents can access broken link reports (HTTP error codes) for authorized sites. This includes 404s, 403s, 500s, and other HTTP errors with complete source page details. Additional monitoring data tools (SSL certificates, security headers, DNS records, uptime statistics) are planned for future releases.

Can I revoke API access?

Absolutely! You can revoke or rotate your API keys at any time from your site's settings page. Revoked keys immediately lose access to your security monitoring data.
